By the time Agatha All Along lands on Disney+ this September, it will have been several years since the WandaVision spinoff formally began brewing at the streamer. Understandably, then, it’s “very surreal” for series star Kathryn Hahn to at last be promoting the series ahead of its fall release.
“It really is a very surreal chapter that’s starting for us,” Hahn told TVLine’s Matt Webb Mitovich on the red carpet at Disney’s Upfront presentation on Tuesday. “It’s finally coming home to roost that we got to do this, that we got to do it with this group of people,...

There are some authors who transcend genre so fully that classification becomes a moot point. Kelly Link is one example. Link’s writing style mirrors other authors - Angela Carter, Shirley Jackson and Neil Gaiman come to mind - but only superficially; her words are her own. The moods swing wildly, from whimsical to melancholic to deranged, though her voice always comes through. She writes as if talking in her sleep, lackadaisical and sparse, strange but deeply evocative. Yet what truly sets her apart from other genre authors is her incredible understanding of the human mind.
Though she has written some terrifying tales, Link is hardly a simple horror or fantasy writer. It’s difficult to think of a writer whose imagination covers more conceptual territory. “The Specialist’s Hat” may be her most straightforward ghost story, but even this narrative hints at melancholic truths. “Water Off a Black Dog...

Director Rupesh Paul says "Vanishing Act," his upcoming film about missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, will work as a standalone thriller no matter what happens in real life.
Paul tells THR that the film will not affect any passengers' families: "Our movie is a thriller. It will not be based on stupid things. There will not be a [gun] and there will not be any aliens. The controversy will help indirectly, but we are not cashing in on the flight."
Despite the subject matter, Paul says there is a market for the film: "People do not want a documentary, they want a thriller. Why should I make a movie on anything that does not attract people?". The plan is to have the movie ready for a theatrical release in the Fall.
MH370 vanished without a trace on March 8th with 239 people onboard, despite a thorough search there is still no indication as to what really happened.

We caught wind of three new series in the works at The CW which, while not strictly horror-based, should still be of interest to genre fans. Read on for the details!
First up is an original project called "Sick" from Trey Callaway (co-executive producer of "CSI: NY") and Sean Hood (Halloween: Resurrection, Fear Itself, and "Masters of Horror"), who wrote the script and sold it directly to The CW. "Sick" is set in a world where youths are quarantined after a mysterious virus makes adults allergic to teenagers. Described as a cross between Contagion and The Hunger Games, it centers on a band of teens who escape from their containment units and go on the run from authorities.
Next is "Jane Whitefield," based on the Vanishing Act book series by Thomas Perry. Produced by Carol Mendelsohn ("CSI") and written by Natalie Chaidez ("Heroes," "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles"), "Jane Whitefield...

Most Sob-Inducing Send-off: “Go play, Sammy.” That one hurt, Revenge. That one hurt.
The Perfect Storm Of Late Night: Conan and Letterman talking about Leno? How very meta!
Shooting Blanks: Lunkhead and former Bachelor Brad Womack said he “dodged a bullet” where Emily is concerned. Dude, we’re pretty sure that gun was pointing in the other directly.
Dumbest Decision: NBC burned off the final three episodes of Community rather than, God forbid, stretch them out and have original programming extend past sweeps.
Most Undeserved Punishment: Revenge is moving to Sunday — already the most crowded night of the week — opposite The Good Wife? Clearly, we did something to seriously tick the folks at ABC off.
Plea Most Likely To Fall On Deaf Ears: CBS head honcho Les Moonves called Dish network’s ad-skipping technology “illegal.” Wanna talk criminal? How about continuing to let your wife, the Chenbot, ruin Big Brother every summer?...

As Fox’s Fringe returns this Friday at 9/8c to a world in which Peter Bishop has ceased to exist, executive producers Jh Wyman and Jeff Pinkner have an important message for Joshua Jackson’s fans.
“People shouldn’t worry,” Wyman told TVLine when we invited the show bosses to reassure Jackson’s supporters. “We can’t imagine telling the series and the story without him.”
“Look, Peter is part of the DNA of the show. We’ve done some pretty crazy things in the past where people were always like, ‘Well, wait a minute. Why are they doing that?...

Lost alumni are finding much work this TV season, with Terry O’Quinn joining Daniel Dae Kim on Hawaii Five-0, Michael Emerson fronting Person of Interest, Nestor Carbonell chasing Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Ringer, and Jorge Garcia in the midseason drama Alcatraz. Add to those ranks Rebecca Mader, who last spring hunted No Ordinary Family, just had a Covert affair with CIA agent Auggie, and this Monday makes an “appearance” on Alphas (Syfy, 10/9c).
TVLine spoke with the British beauty about her proclivity for genre-tv fare – including her Fringe fan girl status – her fond memories of snogging Sawyer, and her gender-bending midseason ABC comedy.

Any speculation that life (lives?) on Fox’s Fringe will never be the same is confirmed by the brand-new key art for Season 4 — and TVLine has your first look at the conversation-starting imagery.
Hot Fall TV Promo: Fringe‘s Olivia Has a Strange Feeling
As seen below, the Season 4 poster features series leads Joshua Jackson, Anna Torv and John Noble, their characters’ worlds seemingly “shattered” by the events of the May finale, in which Peter joined the two universes with a portal room, only to then cease to exist. Oh and hey, there’s also a few Observers… observing.

Four weeks from this Friday — gosh, that’s a long while — Fox’s Fringe will (presumably) start unraveling the mystery of Peter Bishop’s ceasing to exist, aka the bombshell dropped in the closing seconds of Season 3. But perhaps the Internet has now coughed up a first little clue?
Joshua Jackson Cheers Fringe‘s Vanishing Act – and How It Will Save the Peter/Olivia Romance
Throughout the endless summer hiatus, we’ve gotten teaser videos that recycled old scenes seemingly hinting at new themes, and heard a lot of the cast talking cryptically and circuitously about how it’s going to be when Sept.

Dumbest Move: Big Brother’s Jordan had an opportunity to not only make the lackluster season more interesting but solidify her and Jeff’s position in the house by putting nasty nitwit Rachel and her knuckle-dragging beau, Brendon, on the block. Instead, Jordan wussed out by nominating Cassi and Shelly for eviction.
Saddest News Ever: A&E has officially given up any and all rights to use the word “Arts” in reference to its programming now that Storage Wars has become the channel’s most-watched series.
Silliest Lawsuit: Reality babe Kim Kardashian is suing Old Navy for millions because they used a look-alike in an ad. What next? Kermit suing the Budweiser frogs?
Best Thing To Come Out Of Comic-Con So Far: The beautifully edited trailer for season six of Dexter will put a song in your head and a chill in your heart.

Liam Neeson’s lost his identity in the forthcoming thriller, Unknown. You can see the new trailer right here…
"I am Martin Harris!" Liam Neeson gruffly announces, in the new trailer for his forthcoming thriller, Unknown. Sporting a strikingly similar haircut and leather jacket as he did in Pierre Morel's 2008 action flick, Taken, Neeson stars as a doctor who, after emerging from a nasty car crash in Berlin, finds that his wife (Mad Men and X-Men: First Class' January Jones) doesn't recognise him, and that a group of shadowy assassins are out for his blood.
Unknown has the kind of scenario that you'd expect to find (albeit with a narcotic, sci-fi twist) in a Philip K Dick novel, or in quiet TV movie mysteries such as Vanishing Act (a surprisingly effective little film starring Elliot Gould, Margot Kidder, and the late, great Fred Gwynne), but Spanish director Jaume-Collet Serra's...

Carol Mendelsohn the showrunner for CSI has just sold another new crime drama to CBS as reported exclusively by James Hibberd of The Hollywood Reporter. This new drama is described as:
The currently untitled project brings to the small screen a series of suspense novels from author Thomas Perry.
The thrillers star protagonist Jane Whitefield, known to readers in books such as “Vanishing Act.” Across six novels, Whitefield is half-white, half-Indian young woman who works as a one-person witness protection program, helping hide people who are in danger.
“Medium” producer Craig Sweeny will serve as writer and executive producer on the script deal, with Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz as a non-writing executive producers.
CBS has a strong collection of crime dramas at present so it does make sense to add another to their current high ratings scoring genre. In fact CBS has won in the ratings for all four weeks...
