Duty to King and Empire
malcolmgsw26 August 2007
This was made at a time when King and empire rang resonant tones and duty must be put first. This is a portmanteau film which was much loved by the cinema in this era for example Friday 13th,Bank Holiday. The cast is in fact quite distinguished including Banks,Robson and Newton.Although the theme and the story are quite dated nevertheless it is a rather entertaining film.Incidentally this was made at a time when Korda was put under pressure to make sure that Denham Studios were kept full by independent producers such as in this case Eric Pommer.Well worth a look at if you get the opportunity to see this film, which now is unfortunately fairly unlikely.
