Becoming a conscious animal made our unconscious, instinctive connection with the world atrophy, so how do we now connect with the earth, personally, culturally and as a society when our connection with the world has been divided by our own evolutionary and technological development? Spiritual freedom is felt as spiritual movement.

Earthing May is a reckoning, a reclamation, the sear of ancient mythology and ritual weighing on the endlessly strong shoulders of women. "Beltane or 'bright fire' is about casting off the darkness and celebrating the light. It is a time for celebrating fertility, both in the context of our biological functions as well as our own creative energies, the fertility of our creative community."

A fire flickers in the darkness. night breaths heat. Movement, shapes, unidentifiable. Voices cry out, night birds rage. Fragments of a body emerge, the curve of a belly, a leg, an eye. The images coalesce and become one great horned, pregnant bellied goddess. She is raw, she is triumphant, she is the height of summer's fecundity, she is birthing the world itself.

Hathor , goddess of the sky, of women, of fertility and of love, was strongly associated with motherhood. She was often depicted as a cow symbolising her maternal and celestial aspect, though she could also be depicted as woman with a horned headress. This is a celebration of feminine procreative and creative power.

"A generation should tell a next generation how beautiful she truly is" A prayer to Hathor, from the Stela of Ipui.
