Thrilling and bleak American film with high doses of violence, tension, suspense, unsettling scenes and repulsion when a wealthy marriage are about to face the worst night of their lives, as some crooks burst into their gated home on the outskirts of a big city looking for easy money.

This is a violent picture about four hooded delinquents trespass into a mansion, holding a higher-class marriage hostage in their own home, packing shocks, die hard scenario, grisly killings, suspenseful with unexpected lies will come to light emerging twists and turns. Intrigue and frightening take over them all, attackers and victims , but then there cropping out treason, suspicion, at the worst possible time. The film packs a claustrophobic atmosphere, hair-raising frames, blood and gore. This violent story belongs to ¨home invasion¨ sub-genre , being filmed in similar naturalist and realist style to ¨Funny Games¨ by Michael Hanake, ¨Secuestrados¨ by Miguel Angel Vivas and ¨Transgression¨ by Enric Alberich (2011). While the look is suitable eerie and frightening, the plot spreads to the breaking point and the ending turns out to be a little frustrating .

Pulsing and moving musical score by composer David Buckley. Likewise, colorful and brilliant cinematography, shot almost entirely in a studio in Louisiana, by cameraman Andrzej Bartkowiak , this was first film as a cinematographer since Thirteen days (2000). Before shooting that film, he directed his first film, Romeo must die (2000), and subsequently decided to become a director full-time, directing five more movies. The picture was mediocrely Joel Schumacher, failing at the boxoffice and bears remarkable resemblance to others films of this sub-genre¨Home invasion¨. As Schumacher manages to submit his worst insticts, but it doesn't really help. Made in usual syle by Joel Schumacher whose credits include some of the most egregious Hollywood codswallop of the last thirty years, such as : ¨Dying young¨, ¨A time to kill¨ , ¨Flatners¨, ¨Batman and Robin¨, ¨Batman Forever¨ and he also made a successful musical ¨Phantom of Opera¨, the thriller ¨Veronica Guerin¨ and this Trespass (2011) was final film made by Joel Schumacher before his death in 2020. Rating : 5/10 . Passable, but average . The flick will appeal to Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman fans.
