Watching this, it felt like a Saturday Night Live spoof on a bad tv soap from the 70s. Was that what it is supposed to look and sound like? Terrible dialogue, bad story and even two great actors can't save this tepid supposed love story from the gutter. That's the best that Almodovar can come up with for gay amor?? Truly pitiful. Ridiculous and truly shameful. I don't know why I'm actually giving this two stars, the sheriff didn't even deserve his. It even feels like soft porn, without the sex except for a glimpse at Pedro's derrière. The flashback scene is even worse, a bit of slapstick for which the writer couldn't bother to delve into something real. Why bother producing this at all?
