Dire, plodding thriller that woulda felt horribly dated even back in its 2001 day

Dire thriller "The Fourth Angel" feels like it's dated horribly since its 2001 release, but it was almost certainly considered a dreadful 'dated' stinker even back then. Jeremy Irons (awful) is a London reporter whose wife & daughter are killed in a terrorist attack in India - so when the Indians inexplicably release the killers he goes on a cheesie, bloody revenge mission (aided (or not?) by the likes of Charlotte Rampling & Jason Priestley) while the CIA's Forest Whitaker tries tracking him down. Allan Scott's screenplay's an implausible plodder but the real villain here is director John Irvin who totally gooded this by thinking he was still back in his '80s heyday. A turd. Flush it away.
