The director Lara Shapiro, who had in the curriculum just short as Crawl (1994), Tipped (1996) and Disney's American Legends (2001), directs his first and only feature film to date. With a budget of $ 7 million and released directly to the TV the United States, the film has a synopsis already known and well exploited in other productions, but we have a chance here, because the film is very entertaining and fulfills its function well.

Thea Clayhill (Lindsay Lohan) is a young assistant working in a publishing house in Los Angeles alone and takes care of her younger sister Emma (Bridgit Mendler). Your boss Jerry (Chris Parnell) does not leave your feet till the day that time to fire her, she devises that are pregnant to save her job. Employing safe, Thea also starts to receive more attention from colleagues and like the idea. Without thinking of the consequences, she keeps the farce and passes to take advantage of the situation in all senses.

Lindsay Lohan, even though it only deployed in teen movies (Freaky Friday (2003), Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), Mean Girls (2004), Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005) , Just My Luck (2006), is clearly a talented actress as shown in Georgia Rule (2007) and Chapter 27 (2007). She has sensitivity, versatility, is beautiful and charismatic. Even in recent years had engaged in polemics personal and engaging professionally in productions such as I Know Who Killed Me (2007), she is one of those young actresses that can attract looks for productions that are involved.

The script's own director Lara Shapiro in partnership with Stacey Kramer, is one of the first films to show Lindsay in a character a little more mature, with more responsibilities, having to take care of the younger sister, has a job and no longer just a student. But still shows that she is still a young man, and therefore prone to making mistakes. Shown is a festival of clichés, and with five minutes of film already know what will be the end. Could clearly make more jokes and situations involving pregnant women and enjoy the fact that people do everything to please women when they are pregnant, exploring so much wider this universe. One of the best scenes is precisely the class of labor in women who are expecting their first baby are with their respective partners, in a typical situation for pregnant women. All the elements of a romantic comedy are present, with all its comings and goings, even with a little drama in the climax, and even the time the audience will wonder if the couple will really be together in the end.

One of the holes in the script and it was a good time is forced to belly pregnant four months which appears suddenly and despite the other characters think something different, just mentioning that they feel weird without the sudden appearance of the belly. But for the unfolding of the plot, this "poetic license" had to be in relief.

On the technical side the film presents several problems. Clearly the amateur aspect of production. Since common scenarios, the framework excessive close-ups seeking mitigate the problems art direction, to the lack of pace. Editing Anne McCabe is nothing agile, and coupled with soundtrack low and emotionless Andrew Hollander, greatly facilitate assessing a climate monotonous in various parts of the middle of the movie. The plot needs more rhythm, colors and soundtrack.

It's not among the best comedies of recent years, but it fulfills its role well for fun. It is a light comedy, unpretentious and can get good laughs in isolated moments. Despite the clichés and the film is a little slow and without twists, turns out to be a good NSA fun, and show us once again Lindsay stunning on screen. Luke Kirby achieves a good relationship with Lindsay and, moreover, good adjuvants as Cheryl Hines also contribute to the result. The film is far from original or show something new, but it works well and it is proposed to start genuine laughter during projection.
