The plot is quite predictable and it also has a lot of holes in it. But somehow it is very pleasurable to watch, if nothing else for the scenery and McManus' blue eyes.
If you have a passion for sappy B-Movies, this one's for you.
In the feel-good genre, this movie is a nice one.
I would have gone without the good guys versus bad guys subplot, which was not very enticing and poorly written, but most of all distracted from the main plot of family feuds, human love, and romance.
Ed Asner's role is too stereotypical, and he wasn't given time and room to explore it, which is a terrible waste. He could have done so much more for the movie, but it was reduced to old clichés.
