Mr. 3000 (2004)
6/10
Not the best Bernie Mac picture you will ever see, but where is enough worthwhile content to make this worth your time

I recently watched Mr. 3000 (2004) on Tubi. The storyline follows a baseball player who wasn't nice to his coach, teammates, fans or the media when he played. He retired after getting his 3000th hit because he thought it guaranteed his place in the Hall of Fame. When they do a stat correction and adjust his stat, he decides to try and come of retirement and obtain the record; and in the process, possibility rehabilitate his image and the direction of his former team.

This picture is directed by Charles Stone III (Drumline) and stars Bernie Mac (Bad Santa), Angela Bassett (Black Panther), Brian White (Stomp the Yard), Evan Jones (8 Mile) and Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas).

The storyline for this picture is fairly creative and original. Bernie Mac was perfectly cast in this though his comedic content was hit or miss. There are some funny circumstances and one liners. Angela Bassett was gorgeous as always, but seeing her with Bernie Mac made me uncomfortable. This films writing does do a good job of depicting how perspectives can evolve with age and the impact of decisions. The ending to this was way better than I anticipated and a perfect way to conclusion the storyline.

In conclusion , this won't be the best Bernie Mac picture you ever see, but where is enough worthwhile content to make this worth your time. I would score this a 6/10 and recommend seeing it once.
