I Love and kinda Hate this movie

+ Visually stunning. The color Red has its own personality here, it acts more like another actor actually.

+ Musics are beautiful when I consider them separate from the movie, I especially like the main soundtrack.

+ Cinematography is also good, some shots with all them colorful sets are memorable.

+ Although she didn't have much to do, I think the lead actress still did a fine job with her character. Can't say the same with the rest, maybe excluding the blonde girl with our main girl, cause they're more like pawns in the movie rather than characters of their own.

  • Story is weak, so weak that they decided to add a scene somewhere close to the end where two men suddenly show up and dump every information about the background of characters and the school on our main character and this scene awkwardly stands out. I'd rather have our main girl discover everything on her own just like she discovers the secret of witches.

  • Witches using a black gloved murderer who kills people in shadow sound stupid to me. You guys can kill people with magic ffs. I know it was a classic thing for giallo movies but still... They put a spell on blind pianist's dog and it kills and eats him and that was much better than the black glove killer. Maybe the killer is another spell, I dont know, if that's the case they still could have been way more creative with the murders.

-Helena Marcus(the main witch) has no power, and she's so lame, she just sits still on a bed and waits for our main girl to kill her

-After our main girl kills the invisible main witch, the whole place burns down, our main girl manages to run out of the place though and the movie suddenly ends right after she leaves the school and we watch the burning school and listen witches' screams at the end credits who are still burning inside the place, I don't know why but that sudden ending made me laugh.

  • and the worst of all the music strongly and loudly dictates what the audience should feel in all them creepy and mysterious scenes, and because of that I prefer all the quiet scenes with just characters talking, at least the very thin story somehow manages to take a few steps forward in them scenes.

But seriously I have to turn down the volume, music really reaches to a deafening level.

Overall, I think this movie is gorgeous and a visual masterpiece but it lacks a good story, and characters, and I think Dario misuses beautiful musics and force the audience to feel something through them loud music and it gets annoying really soon.
