Not all that much fun actually...

Granted, I have never seen the 1977 movie, so I can't compare this 2005 version to the original movie. However, having just sat down to watch this 2005 movie from director Dean Parisot makes it my second time to watch it since it was initially released. I have to admit that I had entirely forgotten about the storyline, and thus I opted to sit down and watch it again.

The storyline in "Fun with Dick and Jane", from writers Judd Apatow, Nicholas Stoller and Gerald Gaiser, was pretty straightforward. Sure, it was enjoyable for what it was, but it is hardly a comedy classic or a comedy gem. Sure, there were some enjoyable and funny moments throughout the course of the 90 minutes that the movie ran for, but hardly an outstanding foray into the comedy genre.

Sure, Jim Carrey and Téa Leoni carried the movie quite nicely, but I have to say that I found that Alec Baldwin and Richard Jenkins were actually the most memorable on the screen. The cast ensemble in the movie was good, and it was good performances in general.

Some good enough laughs here and there, sure. But "Fun with Dick and Jane" was not a laugh riot.

My rating of director Dean Parisot's 2005 movie "Fun with Dick and Jane" lands on a five out of ten stars.
