I tried to like it. I really tried. But it's garbage in every way.
1.) The voices sound NOTHING like the original characters. The closest it gets is Buster occasionally sounds like Bugs Bunny. Everyone else, just random voices with "no relation" to the originals. Even Plucky Duck doesn't sound the least bit duck-like.
Why not hire some of the original voice actors? Spielberg wouldn't pay them enough?
2.) The art is typical soulless low-effort vector graphics - I feel like I'm watching The Fairly OddParents.
3.) The writing is awkward, meandering, and unfunny. Feels kind of like a preschooler wrote it, except without the funny non-sequiturs you would get from that. Kind of like a low-budget comedy anime.
You would think that with the backing of Steven Spielberg this would be good. Instead, it's a mockery of a classic from my childhood.
They managed to do a decent job with the Animaniacs sequel series (in spite of occasional partisan politics shoehorned in). Why not this? If you're gonna bring back a classic, do it right, or leave it alone.
