Criteria No: 1 Story, Story line and characters ----------------------------------------- The concept and the story was great on how a woman and her mingling relationship with a man she once knew, how she was trying to stand behind the walls of the forbidden city, between scheming and hatred. I loved how the story and the characters had a progression as the story line went on. But I still do not like the fact that the big brain Jia is made dumber to put an end to her story. To be honest this drama is not for people who hate tragic endings. ( I loved tragic endings)

Criteria No: 2 Acting ----------------------------------------- Zhou Xun - She was incredible and all of her hidden emotions can be seen in her eyes, '' You dumb, selfish fool.''
Wallance Huo - He wasn't bad at all but I thought he was rather convincing in his role. ( I guess that's why everyone wanted to beat the hell out of him)
Qi Xiang - I loved her acting and she was brilliant at her role and loyal maid who speaks out and question when she thinks someone is in the wrong.
Xi Zhilei - She nailed her role she made us understand how devoted she was to her clan lord.
Vivian Wu - She was really good at her role showing a woman who is ruthless and savage at times. She really knows to punch where it hurts in an argument.

Criteria No: 3 Videography, Editing and BGM -------------------------------------------- This deserves a lot of praise as well I loved the BGM ( especially the sad ones and festive ones). There was a lot of legendary shots and I can see a lot of money, I mean a huge amount of money was spent on. They gorgeously took shots and there were proper editing and lighting to make the scenes give you that mood. They did make the scenes too dull nor vibrant.

Criteria No: 4 Makeup, Hairstyle, costumes, sets and details -------------------------------------------------------- I loved the costumes, I wished I had clothes like them. All the character had a good and more natural look and light makeup. Some times Jia 's hair gets really guge but it's okay I guess. The sets were great and they really paid attention to detail. Again a huge amount of money was spent.
