Scream writer Kevin Williamson gets full usage out of the paranoia and sweaty fear of the 2020 COVID lockdown. He even gives the antagonists room for a plausible motivation to tie in with mysterious virus. Whether one would go as far as these killer(s) do - it certainly made Laura and I discuss it at length at the end.
This gave the film some depth that would be lacking in other hands-Williamson has been around the block!
Like Scream he sets up a taunt opener that grabs the audience, and at 82mins it lean and pacy.
I also liked that the females weren't the usual vapid ' bimbos', Parker has just ordinary with puppy fat and a decent character, along with Mary, real friendly chemistry.
An enjoyable if clichéd Friday night slasher that is several rungs above the usual fodder.
