Vikram and Aishwarya; two show stealers
12 June 2023
This would undoubtedly come across as convoluted and difficult to follow, especially for those unfamiliar with the epic upon which it is based, but I believe that those who have read the books and remember every character and what they stand for will have plenty to cherish.

Adapting a story that spans five books into two 2-and-a-half-hour movies is not an easy task, but I do applaud Mani Ratnam for his noble effort, as he has tried his hardest to transform mere words into mesmerising visuals. Though those expecting something along the lines of Baahubali will be disgruntled, despite the fact that the sets are magnificent and the action is adequate.

However, the dazzling chemistry shared by Vikram and Aishwarya would dissuade even the harshest critics of these films from voicing their views. That confrontation scene is among the best I have witnessed so far in regional features. Cinema reached its pinnacle there and then.
