***Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2 Tamil Movie Review***

No need of further introduction as in 2021, Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 created wonders at the box office. At the end of the 1st part, the film threw many questions to the audience. The people who read writer Kalki's book was awaiting how Mani Ratnam had brought the same into the big screen & those who have not read was curious as they were waiting for the questions that came to their mind.

As actor Jayam Ravi who plays the titular role, said in PS 2 promotion that PS 1 was just a trailer, PS 2 is the movie, post watching the movie, I agree to his point.

PS 1 travels around the character building of each character. It was like the construction of the basement so that when we watch PS 2 it would have a concrete impact in the minds of the audience.

As a whole PS: 1 and 2 talks about the hatred, lost love, greed, vengeance, the dark political game which we quite frequently observe in our present lives.

Screenplay of Mani Ratnam, Jeyamohan, Elango Kumaravel had given 100% justice to Kalki Krishnamurthy original script.

When take up the performances, the lead characters had given the top-notch performance. If in Part 1 if we could see the superlative performance of Trisha, in PS 2 it was Aishwarya who stolen the show. Her dual role as Nandini and Mandakini was outstanding. The vengeance, the anger of her lost love, the sorrow of Nandini on one hand whereas immense homage towards the Chola kingdom by Mandakini on the other, Aishwarya able to revamp herself into these characters well.

Chiyaan Vikram's performance was another noteworthy as in this part his screen presence was more so we could see his magic more.

The scene where Vikram and Aishwarya meet and just express out themselves, that 10 minutes of that scene, Mani Ratnam sir direction, Ravi Varman Cinematography backed by Vikram - Aishwarya stellar performance, audience will feel that the lost love should be reunited. Epic scene in PS: part 2

ARR musical score escalates the intensity of the situation.

The climax shot wherein Jayam Ravi kneels down post the war victory, the BGM thereon gave a goosebumps moment.

Overall PS: Part 2 was a film which feels to be re watchable as it's a movie which is made once in a lifetime.
