They try too hard to fit in social justice messages and it skips around. The story just skips from one thread to another and "jumps the shark" with certain scenes.
Season 1 was great, 2 was a car crash, and 3 is something in between. There are moments of redemption and some decent threads of a story.
The acting is forced and dialogue is often weak, but there are moments of brilliance, of humour and solid writing.
The abnormal quotes and references to pop culture has moved from charming in season 1, to irritating by season 3.
I still love the cinematic work and the scenes of Richmond. This is an improvement over scene 2.
