Review of Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso (2020–2023)
3/10
Great start, then lost it's way
25 April 2023
We accidentally stumbled across this show early on in season one and loved it. Sure it was hokey, improbable and silly, but Ted's character and his sidekick 'The Beard" were wonderful.

The entire season one was just pure fun and we couldn't wait for season two.

Season two was good, but there was a definite drop-off in the quality of writing and it branched into too many side stories and it lost it's way. None the less, it was still watchable and we hoped that perhaps, if there was a season three they showrunners would find their way back to the original fresh and humorous plot that made season one so fun.

Well, unfortunately, the show has decided to follow story lines that have nothing to do with the original plot. The best way to describe it is that the producers decided to hire Shonda Rhimes to write the script and direct the storylines.

Sappy, silly, unnecessary topics and entire episodes dedicated to characters and events that are uninteresting, boring and cause the viewer to become very acquainted with the fast-forward button.

Hopefully Jason and the crew will find their way back if there is a season four.
