Ghosted (I) (2023)

The cast makes it better

Feels like a low budget indie production, can an action movie be indie? It reminds of of Chris evans own first directing job "Before We Go" which was homage of the before trilogy as well. These two characters meet and you follow them and eavesdrop on their conversations, of course not as with as much acuity or romance as the before trilogy, this was more action and comedy.

Action sequences were pretty fun, not always logical, one of those movies were the bullets somehow dodge main characters. Explosions were really fake, but they were everywhere. They just spent a huge budget on Chris Evans and ana de armas, and the countless cameos; which were great but forgot about the special effects. The actors look like they had fun making it though. The car scenes sucked, must have been using green screen.

The second half of the movie kinda runs out of steam; despite it's flaws I found it pretty enjoyable until the last half hour or so when it started to feel like a drag. The movie could've shorter especially since it wasn't bringing anything new to the spy genre, it was almost formulaic fit the most part. First it was Netflix's attempt at making its own Bourne like franchise with the grayman, and this seems to be appletv's attempt, not as good. It's not as bad as I feared after seeing reviews trashing it, pretty tolerable and fun while being crappy at the same time.
