A gem. A rare find !!!!

So last week I decided to finally watch Withnail and I. I really like Paul McGann and the fact that Richard Grant was in it made it all the more appealing. However from the description I knew I'd have to be in a certain mood to watch it. No I don't necessarily mean what some of you might think because I do not "partake" these days although there was a time that this movie might have been all the more better. So yeah last week I found the movie on HBO and decided to see how it was and yeah I could see why it became a cult classic. It was really off the wall, a superb dark comedy very moody. The characters had a way to take you to the dark corners of your mind and threaten with the prospect of leaving you there all by yourself. The acting by all was just superb. Well this is where I first saw Michael Elphick and I just had to have more. So I read some things about him I was really sad to read of his sad and slow death from alcoholism. What a terrible loss. Well this is when I discovered Boon. I am disabled I'm pretty much confined to watching a lot of TV and I'm really surprised that this one had never come under my scrutiny before. In the last few years I have become really knowledgeable about British TV. I will even say that I prefer watching British sitcoms and crime drama over the ones here in the US. I was just really surprised this one never caught my attention. So for days now I've been binge watching Boon and now that I'm almost finished I'm starting to get a little down knowing it will be over soon. Again what great cast of actors !!!! Michael Elphick is outstanding and the chemistry between him and David Daker always leaves me wanting more. And what can I say about Neill Morrissey???? Always adorable, charming, nails every scene. I am usually more attracted to dark and gritty crime dramas such as Silent Witness, Line of Duty, but have more recently been giving the lighter types of crime drama mysteries a shot, such as Shakespeare and Hathaway, Madame Blanc, and Agatha Raisin. Well I have continually been pleased with Boon and I'm sad that I'm almost at the end of the last season. Luckily I did some research and I found that there is another cult movie that I will need to watch...... I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle which features all three...... Elphick, Daker, and Morrissey. Anyway take my advice and give Boon a shot sooner than later. I definitely intend on watching this whole series over again sometime in the next couple years.
