Brave Captain
10 December 2022
Similar in premise to Hitchcock's 'Lifeboat' but given greater urgency by the number of the survivors. Tyrone Powers proves that he was more that just a pretty face and that he died at the top of his game as the seaman who has to make life or death decisions as to who must live and who must die.

The setting of a small lifeboat adrift in the South Atlantic is remarkably convincingly conveyed, the relentlessly grim mood only really punctured when Danny Green - of all people - declares himself a fan of Marie Lohr's opera diva's Mimi in 'La Boheme'. But the real revelation is Moira Lister who isn't kidding when she proudly declares that "I'm extremely able-bodied as you see!"
