While there is a romance here, the meat of the story is the coming together of an estranged (via an early adoption) and her family of mother and half-siblings. Most of the movie is highly sentimental.
Marilou Henner is always a delight, and she has a few appearances as a family matriarch in these Hallmark movies. She's one of the few "name" actors or actresses (name from outside the locus of Hallmark regulars, that is) who still regularly are cast.
The rest of the cast contributes reliably and sells their roles, except many for the bit of drama finally introduced in the romance. I wasn't concerned it wouldn't work, especially as they always work out. ;-)
