I thought that the show started of a bit slow and at first I did not really understand the hype. It was decent, but not that good. But the further i watched the more i realized the shows genius. It's not a fast show that wants to tell a story with an overarching plot,which many seem to criticize it for. Which is fair criticism if you don't like that. But if you watched the show for the plot, you watched it for the wrong reason.
Even if both the overarching and individual episodes plots were sometimes lacking, I felt that it didn't ruin my experience. Because when i realized that what the show wanted to do is to explore strange concepts and, most importantly, the characters, it didn't really matter. All trough the show so much is said with so little. The characters do not talk about they're problems and difficulties, you instead have to understand them trough simple dialog or visuals. And it just hits differently, especially in episode 24.
Also , the action, animation and music hits different, it might be old but it holds up.
So if you like a slower character orientated incredibly intelligent show, go watch it, you'll probably like it. And if you don't, watch it anyway!
