Heart breaking sad scenes in care homes and hospitals
28 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Just watched the first three episodes of this new drama and have to say the scenes set in care hones and hospitals are absolutely heart breaking.

The story may be set around Boris and the government during the start of the Covid pandemic, but it's the impact on those that died that steals the show.

What's clear from this drama is that no governments were really prepared for this pandemic, in terms of PPE, health worker protection, care home protection, emergency planning, contingency planning, education, business, the economy, travel, transport, etc, etc, and handled the epidemic terribly, with little regard for the consequences on citizens lives.

Most emphasis seemed to be on economic matters and how the government looked, not what it was actually doing to manage the country.

Boris comes out of this as a bit of a sad case to be honest, a weak ineffectual leader who was self consumed and over whelmed. Yes, he's portrayed as a loving yet rogue family man, but it's his lack of empathy with the working masses and his failure to get to grips with the crisis that's more worrying.

A few more episodes to go but this is high quality drama that deserves to be watched to get a better understanding of how the pandemic got out of control and who possibly did what, and who did not at the most critical times.
