I remember back in 2003 when director Len Wiseman unleashed "Underworld" upon the cinema, I was in awe. The movie was such an amazing action movie that put two of the most iconic horror creatures in battle against one another; that being vampires and werewolves (called Lycans in this movie franchise).
The storyline, as written by Kevin Grevioux, Len Wiseman and Danny McBride, was and still is quite enjoyable. It is a well-written script that immediately immerses the audience into the depths of the night where vampires and werewolves struggle against one another, each race with their own agenda.
"Underworld" also has a pretty interesting character gallery, and that goes for both sides of the struggle - vampires and werewolves. So there is definitely something for everyone in the audience here, whether you root for the vampires or the werewolves.
And to bring the characters to life on the screen, "Underworld" had a pretty good cast ensemble, which includes the talents of Kate Beckinsale, Michael Sheen, Scott Speedman, Shane Brolly and none other than Bill Nighy. So you are in for quite a treat when you sit down to watch "Underworld".
This is an action movie with a lot of fast-paced and impressive action sequences. Not only are the action sequences nicely choreographed and executed on the screen, nay, they are also visually impressive to look at, given the cinematography. The action is definitely eye-candy and it helps bring the movie to life on the screen in a very enjoyable manner.
If "Underworld" somehow have managed to elude your viewing pleasure, then you most certainly should sit down to watch director Len Wiseman's 2003 movie, should you find yourself presented with the opportunity to do so. This is a movie that packs a lot of punch and has a lot of contents to it, so it can be watched again and again.
