We know we are because ... no wait, we think therefor we are. But would an artificial life, a robot, an android or whatever we may call it, not also think? Of course - the thinking process would be different probably, but it would be there. And if the ... let's call it exterior would match the ... drape (no pun intended), how could we tell, who is human (and is) and who is not? Again no pun intended here.
If you think the movie will answer philosophical questions ... well think again. Or rather do not watch - it is more on the light side of all that discussion. It does give you food for thought and you can deduct from your point of view and with your own experience and moral compass, what the movie may want to tell you. Overall it is a love story ... and a story of being comes second ... neat little thriller with some interesting ideas and good actors to boost them with.
