Stop calling this a "smart" or "intelligent" show
27 June 2022
I lose my faith in humanity every time someone calls this show smart or intelligent because it couldn't be further than the truth when an average episode of this show comes with 20-25 plot holes, logical errors and completely lacks basic common sense. Also if you believe FBI can sneak into people's buildings and steal evidence without a warrant and courts will accept that evidence, you have no idea how justice system works, evidently neither do writers of this show.

Most of the dialogue between Caffrey and Burke is extremely cheesy to the point it makes you cringe but if you like that kind of stuff you might enjoy this show.

In each episode they solve a crime but most of the crimes are solved exactly the same way where our heroes just happen to be at the right place at the right time and they get lucky where all pieces just fall into perfect place without them even trying. Most of the cases they solve actually solve themselves.

Here is how 99% of the cases are solved: Caffrey knows someone who knows someone that happens to know our criminals. This person introduces Caffrey to these criminals. Then Caffrey charms them with his charming personality and looks. Then Caffrey magically knows where everything is hiding and how to find everything after he is invited to a party where criminals hangout. People are charmed so much by Caffrey that they admit everything and case is solved. In most episodes they don't even bother showing how the case is solved because it's not really solved but they still pretend it is. Then in many episodes they sneak into buildings and "steal" evidence without warrant which obviously wouldn't be accepted in any court.

One of the issues with this show is that they keep recycling the same stories, same clichés, even same criminals over and over to the point that you can pretty much predict how an episode will end within the first 15 minutes of each episode. You can even guess exactly how each case will be solved halfway into the episode once you've seen 5-6 episodes of the show.

It's an ok show to watch as a filler if you have nothing else to watch but you'll get bored quickly because of how cheesy, cringey and repetitive it gets very quickly.
