This is not a spoiler because you find out in the first minutes of the first episode but will include as such just in case: the protagonist has a daughter, who dies, that she utterly seems to have forgotten existed. She kicked her daughter out when the daughter was 17 and later 'looked' for her but in 20 years was unable to find her, mind you the mother (protagonist) is a police detective with the tools at her disposal. What sort of sociopath is this woman?! Appalling premise. Other than that, the usual BBC sort of detective show which is fair enough.
