The Family (1970)
6/10
One of the earliest Italian Poliziotteschi
16 June 2022
One of the earliest Italian Poliziotteschi films but is not one of the best. Charles Bronson and Telly Savalas are okay and certainly Bronson is to be excellent later on. The chase at the start is very good but unfortunately about stop and go that is not a great beginning. Jill Ireland is only along for the race and indeed for much of the film and splendid throughout, she was actually the wife of Bronson. It is not a very interesting story and is often rather slow which is a shame. I have to say that the assassination at the end is thrilling and almost makes the film worth seeing.
