I have to admit after 25 movies this one feels the weirdest but has its charm too. Barry Nelson may not be the best Bond (he certainly didn't aim for it) but he has his charisma and after a while you start to see that little part of "James Bond" persona we know so well. Peter Lorre is amazing in his role of Le Chiffre - I would even go on to say that he might be one of the best villains in all of Bond movies, although his motivation leaves to many questions not answered because this Casino Royale is only 50 minutes long. Overall this is a fine watch, with great performances on the spot (this is shot as a play after all) but everything else looks mediocre and thin. It's nice though to know the whole history of how the character of James Bond evolved over the years.
