Dial Help (1988)
2/10
A plot that makes no sense, with laughable effects.

Warning: Spoilers
It's hard to put into words just how bad this film is. The basic concept itself is badly thought through - that negative energy from a suicide helpline could somehow keep track of an individual and her friends, and find various ways to attack them.

The attacks themselves are ludicrous - with telephones moving and levitating of their own accord, throwing themselves across rooms, killing fish, cables being able to tie people up, and the phone system being able to influence things like lifts and an entire train.

The acting and direction aren't great, but the script and effects are even worse. I honestly struggled to rate it as high as a '2'.
