It's the fav of our oldest son (now 43), way back when. Hence, Mom & Dad saw it more than we wanted to.
Even so, it's semi-slapstick by design, and kind of works. With many sight-gags, and non-stop facetious / sarcastic dialogue, it's fun.
Decent plot, (whose main function is to be a vehicle for gags and one-liners); and a good cadre of actors, most of which are retired or passed. From Don DeLuise, to Ray Waldron, to Maureen Stapleton, these are not names you'd expect to see together in a mid 80s flick.
For what the producers/director intended, they hit the mark more than less. So I gave it a 7.
Just fun enough.
