This would never be the most memorable movie from Delmer Daves, though being an awesome war film, but the trade mark of Daves will be his unforgettable westerns, such as BROKEN ARROW, 3.10 TO YUMA, LAST CARAVAN, JUBAL etc...he also gave us KINGS GO FORTH. This film, his very first doesn't look like a first movie, that what makes his strength and predicts the best for the following stuff. Typically Hollywoodian, it deserves to be watched, shown to the new generation, because of the acting, directing, editing.... The trademark of the greatest directors whom we awfully miss now.
