Enjoyable, but not as good as the first one, which surprised us with its off-beat plot and premises. The best parts/kid favorites involved the jungle sequences, especially with the dancing bird troupes, like a tropical happy feet. The plot itself has a good ecological message, but this has become standard now, and Rio 2's is decidedly cookie cutter. The humdrum storyline is made even less appealing by the family troubles/middle-aged anxiety of the "domesticated" husband/parrot who fears the wild, putting him at odds with his wife and her new romantic interest. Seriously?
