When talking about soap operas, EastEnders, Coronation Street and Emmerdale are the big names that come up. However, Hollyoaks is always the odd one out. Why? Because it's cringeworthy at best and horrible at worst.
Nowadays, Hollyoaks is at its absolute worst as it has 3 main issues:
Overall: Hollyoaks is an awful show. Terrible acting, Unfunny humor and Stupid editing. Instead of focusing on creating great storylines with good character development, they keep recycling the same formula over and over again with little to no improvement. Also, they had an episode dedicated towards black people as in only having the black characters in a 48 minute long episode which was not only extremely stupid but clearly shows them pandering towards the black people. I'm a black person myself and I absolutely get infuriated when they do that type of thing. If they want to improve this show, either fire the producers or force them to improve it because as of now, Hollyoaks is an awful show in every way.

- Terrible acting = the acting is just plain awful to listen to as characters constantly underreact and overreact. Even the dialogue and writing itself is badly written, it's as if it was written by a 10 year old. This isn't just for the Liverpool actors because even the London actors are horrible.
- Unfunny humor = there's no problem with a show not trying to take itself seriously but this show does it so poorly and just comes off as cringe inducing. Constant jokes that are completely cringe and dumb to listen to. There also come out of nowhere, especially in the "serious" moments. Again, it sounds like a 10 year old wrote this.
- Stupid editing = the editing is so bad that it feels like a dog is waving a camera stick around with its mouth. Pointless shaky cam, unnecessary visual effects, horrible CGI, laughably bad close up cams and questionable zoom outs. And enough with the pointless music at the beginning of each episode because it feels completely out of place.
