Salting the Battlefield (2014 TV Movie)
2/10
Great cast ill-used

Warning: Spoilers
I hoped this might right the wrongs of part 2 of the trilogy- sadly it did not.

There are some nice locations.

But the dialogue is so poorly written. It is, in so many places, entirely unnatural. This makes it impossible for the actors to give their characters a human feel. They are frequently forced to fill in story lines via conversation. This is very boring to watch as it saps the presence out of actors. All to often there's no spark, no humour and no magic.

When the actors do demonstrate some emotion it tends to be detached, overblown and unconvincing shouting. For example a street argument between the lead and his daughter where they were both clearly directed to circle around each other like boxers. This looked peculiar and hampered the actors in the plausible delivery of their lines. The engagement just isn't there and I don't blame the actors at all. It is poorly written and directed.

At least part 2 made me laugh as it was edited with such clumsiness.
