I have this series on DVD and have watched it several times. Peter Bowles makes a charming and very funny con man and George Cole is his perfect foil. Best episode for me is when Mary and Trevor "think" they are celebrating their anniversary in a posh restaurant, courtesy of Howard. I enjoyed Series 1 the best, but unfortunately not the storylines with Ilsa Blair as Laura. The best episode with Ilsa was when she got a dog, who was not fond of Howard. I love Peter Bowles in most of his roles, but "The Bounder" really is a brilliant lost gem. I recommend this series whenever I can. Sadly, most people I know have never heard of it.
