The Love Bug (1969)

The beginning of Herbie!
11 June 2021
The last big success in live-action movies for Disney, that was still supervised by Walt Disney himself before his death. It created a franchise with three sequels, a TV Movie and a TV series and another late sequel some decades later, and made the character of Herbie, an anthropomorphic racing beetle, one of the most recognisable from the studio. As is the case with most of the live-action successes of Disney, the movie is directed by the great Stevenson, that always manages to make any story great entertainment, and together with the casting (including David Tomlinson as an unforgettable villain) and great stunts and effects, keeps you hooked and provides a lot of charm and fun.
