Really enjoyed this one

Warning: Spoilers
"Au Revoir, Chris Hemsworth" is a little short film, actually music video you could say, that runs for minimally under three minutes and is, as the title already suggests, in the French language. But there are English subtitles. Kinda surprised this was only seen by 250k people by now and it's been online for over half a year already. Perhaps Chris Hemsworth actually showing up here would have turned it into 2.5 million. We'll never know. But I pick Tom cruise over him any time and you can see Cruise on the poster here, which is definitely a bit of a spoiler, even if the man's inclusion is as short as it gets. I still prefer Chris over Liam and the other brother where I don't remember the name. Was it Luke? Anyway, there are a few personal reasons here for me I guess why I quite enjoyed this one. First would be that I really adore the French language and it is in French from beginning to end and the singer's voice fits nicely too. It's not a challenging number or performance, but it has the tongue-in-cheek element going for it. Also it helps in my very case that this is in black-and-white as I generally tend to enjoy b&w movies. I will also elaborate a bit on the basics. Somehow I must say I mistook Chris Hemsworth for Chris Evans when listening to this one, but now I got it. The director here is Simon Pegg and he is also one of the two writers. Is there anything I really have to say about him? I don't think so.

The second writer is Pom Klementieff of course. I still think Pom is an amazing name. You will probably know her from playing Mantis in several movies of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers franchise. Klementieff is a Canadian and native French speaker I think looking at where she was born, so good choice here. Definitely makes it work. The original song is from the 1960s, so easily over 50 years ago/old already. The singer back then was France Gall, maybe not known to too many anymore, especially outside France, but the composer back then was Serge Gainsbourg. Now he is still remembered by many. I wonder what he would think about this new version. I think it's pretty stylish. Somehow this is also linked to a fantasy football game online and basically trash talk from beginning to end, which makes it fairly funny. I probably would have understood this better if I had any clue about the sport. Even if I heard the name Aaron Rodgers before. There are many other kinda funny mentions. Tom Holland and Ryan Reynolds getting their fair share as well. One bird character is even eaten. Okay, that was a bit starnge, but still kinda entertaining also with the bloopers at the very end. Now I wrote a lot about this one, but the one thing more important than anything I have to say here is that you should check this one out. It's also really easy to find.

Especially Avengers fand and GotG (not Game of thrones) fans will have a fun time here I am sure. But also if you have no clue who these people are (cannot forgive you with Cruise though, there are other big names too at the end, check out the cast list if you care), this is a pretty decent watch. Even better and easier to enjoy if you speak (or at least understand) French fluently. Alright, this is basically it then. Now I am somehow in the mood to watch a(n old) French black-and-white movie. Mission accomplished I suppose. On my MP3 player this goes. No hesitation for me here in giving this one a really high rating, the obscenity makes sense too from a comedic perspective, verbally and graphically (sexual reference, swearing and middle fingers), and that is indeed quite a creative achievement. It's titles like this one here I suppose that make it easier for me to understand why music videos are a part of imdb and there are so, so many music video titles now. This one here you really do not wanna miss out on. Big thumbs-up and this is also incredibly catchy. I must even say I like it more than the original and it is also certainly a success that I enjoyed this one here so much that I immediately afterwards checked out the old song by Gall.
