Nothing new but well done
2 April 2021
I didn't learn anything new about Elizabeth and Margaret. Their relationship is well documented as is every detail of Margaret's life. What I found interesting is how much the royal family has changed throughout Elizabeth's reign. The next in line to the throne is a divorced man who will become the first monarch to take the throne after being divorced (since Henry VIII I think). The dynamic between the sisters is playing out again with her grandsons. The second son married a divorced American not unlike Edward who abdicated as a result of it. But the seriousness we see in Elizabeth is now visible in William and the devil-may-care attitude is now obvious in Harry. The more things change, the more they stay the same and life moves on. Elizabeth was really smart to have more than two kids so Andrew wouldn't feel isolated. Too bad Charles didn't learn that from her.
