Religion is a none-factor here because this is a piece of fiction. I seriously don't get people bashing or praising this film solely based on the religion. I honestly couldn't care less.
That said, not much going on here. Edgy bad boy gets the sexy girl while the lame prude is a whimpy nerd who dies in an over-the-top parody of whats supposed to be a sacrifice. Script and structure come off mostly as someone who is trying to be mature by attacking 'The Man' i.e. the Eastern story and it's meanings. The animation is very smooth and character design ain't at all bad. But really, that's about it. If you're someone who wants to 'stick it to the man' and make Christianity your target, you'll probably like it. If you want some actual storytelling with more plot, pay off, and consequences than a Family Guy skit, go look somewhere else.
