I agree with the review of no happy ending and choppy.
I think this may have been the point. There is no end for such a tragic loss. There is no end to the questioning of one's belief's and faith during such a loss. There never is an end to the pain. The journey to find serenity is choppy at best. There is only the attempt to move forward and rectify the unending unanswerable question of "why" that can serve to obstruct one's path forward in faith or the loss of faith. The ending of the movie was poignant where after months and years of toil he reaches up and picks fruit from the tree signifying hope. This is a tree that continues to produce long after his struggle is over. Hence the title- Faith.
