Eight Is Enough (1977–1981)

Annoying Generic Family
26 December 2020
Every episode was the same. They started out as a happy family that agreed on everything. A problem arose that affected someone in the family, or someone they knew. They all had to talk to each other about it and react and interfere.

It was like Dr. Phil's Family where they were all meddlers. Dick van Patten was the chubby Dad whose job it was to bring the show to an end on some kind of happy note. Like they all figured it out, or the problem was solved, or they all came to understand what happened. Very neat formula of blissful happiness, over and over again.
