I've watched a decent amount of old 70s fantastic 4 cartoons, haven't read comics much though. However fantastic 4 is very campy to me in general.
With that said this movie was par for the course imo. The saving grace is silver surfer. His character is awesome, he's a man without a home, drifting through the cosmos, a lost soul. And if you can't appreciate the character development I don't have anything to say. But surfer totally makes the movie to me. I literally googled "silver surfer movie" for three years after fantastic 4 sequel was released. And now 14 years later this is all we have. So rather than gripe I choose to enjoy this cinematic experience.
