Interesting twists in the story you don't expect.
The way the characters genuinely open up and express how they really feel about each other.
The supporting character "Macha" is probably the most lively and enjoyable character in the film. Her short stature, cuteness, firecracker personality, and supportive friendship role all worked together to make her a wonderful character to watch.
Cons: The two main characters spend a lot of the movie in a state of quiet angst about their circumstances. They're always upset about something and we don't get to see anything else about them to give their character's dimension or make them interesting.
For a movie that's about a girl who has to cut herself off from technology to physically survive. You'd think they're would be a meaningful message about of the toxicity of social media or the value of cultivating friendship in a rural setting. But no, the allergy is a plot device to support the drama which then mysteriously and conveniently disappears at the end of the movie.
