Three episodes would have done it for this tonally flat, slow series.

Conceptually, this type of plot has been developed before in many forms, regardless of their origins, and more often than not it's been more entertaining. It's tedious watching a middle-aged, divorced, relatively unlikeable wealth-inheritor figuratively wrench his hands over and over, and wrestle with his conscience so hard and so often, only to be kind of a self-serving dick at the finale.

The other characters weren't fleshed out enough for my taste, so their motivations weren't interesting, nor did they inspire much sympathy. The philosophical speeches peppered here and there were Far Too Long, although they were well-crafted. Then there's the anticlimactic non-reveal ending after a lot of time-wasting protest/riot scenes, driving scenes, sex scenes, watching people smoke and look out of windows, guitar solos, staring at computers, crying jags; it's not a very good production.
