B-movie version of the tale
6 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This adaptation of the classic fairy tale is undoubtedly the most B-movie feeling of them all. It's a low rent Aussie production that adopts a quasi-medieval look and features lead Estella Warren in a cleavage-baring, short-skirted outfit which doesn't exactly fit with the times. There's an ugly misunderstood beast roaming around full of heartache, and an entirely CGI skinless beast butchering people to boot. The dialogue is by rote and the performances as wooden as they come, although the director dollops in some fun and cheesy gore effects to ramp up the viewer's attention. It's not enough to make this anywhere near a good film.
