This TV show takes nothing away from the 80s film - which will always hold up as a beacon of 80s films.
This is based on the book, but takes makes its own path by focusing more on the personal lives and drives behind the Mercury 7. It is this which I think positions the TV series completely differently to the film.
The acting is brilliant - a stellar cast all around. Great to be able to find out more about the other 5, rather than just focusing on the 2 frontrunners. I am really looking forward to the next 6 episodes & a possible series 2.
