Grangé's book must be difficult to adapted into movies: they are extremely dense and usually full of twist. You have to cut and change a lot of stuff and, as it happens with this movie, some events and characters lose its meaning.
The movie in itself is an average thriller with some interesting tidbits of Turkish history. Not a masterpiece but overall watchable.
