The story is there, occasionally intense, hardly suspenseful, but still there.
But then why does it have to be about a whiny, idiotic, clumsy, selfish, unkempt, unshaven drunk running around in a filthy yellow duvet borrowing homes, cars, favors he never thanks anybody for?
